What We Can Learn From Loki

I’m not sure if the scene is in a Thor movie or another Marvel movie, but there is a scene with Loki that always grabs my attention. And yes! I’ve seen the movie more than once.

The scene takes place on earth. People are working on the Tesseract and Loki seems to be sitting there, watching.  But in that moment, he actually projects into another realm to have a conversation with some bad guy on another planet.  So, Loki’s spirit body has traveled, but his physical body is back on earth.  Or, it may be that Loki can bilocate, being in two places at one time.  Other than all of the bad guy stuff, there is much to learn from this scene.

First off, you do this all of the time. I’ll bet you’re often in two places at once.  When you’re doing mindless tasks or things that you have done time and time again, your mind often wanders. I am encouraging you to use this ability with purpose.

What Loki has done by bilocating, I actually do when I give people soul reads, delve into past lives, or work with the spirit realm.  My consciousness travels with intention, while my physical body stays right here on earth.  Only some people can catch me at it.  They tell me it’s a look in my eye.  I’m sure they’re right, since it’s an active focus of attention on my part.

I invite you to give it a go. Next time you’re trying to find an answer to a troubling question, mull it over in your mind and consider going outside of your own thoughts. Rather than using reason to sort, comprehend, or lead the way to resolution, allow yourself to flow into your daydream-like state with the intention of gathering information from the great pool of the collective unconscious.  If this active effort of directing your conscious awareness doesn’t appeal to you, there are other ways.

Perhaps, just pose your question out to the universe and then pay attention throughout your day for the answer to “dawn on you” or “come to you.” Be open for external signs to unexpectedly “show up.” If you really want to work it, close your eyes and “imagine” sitting with another for guidance. Always pick a good guy to work with. Don’t go Loki on me.

The lesson here is to take advantage of the fact that you are more than just a brain in a body, more than just a mind in a human being.  You are first and foremost soul. And you are connected to an infinite web of life.  And that connection can be made through expanding your consciousness, and yes, projecting your spirit beyond yourself.  You can go past the constraints of your ego mind, which has been shaped by your own personal experiences, and tap into vast knowing. Be it the knowing of your higher self or the goodness beyond.

Direct your energy with intention, use this ability with purpose.

Empathic souls take note:  I also adore the fact that, in the instant of any action scene, Loki conjures up his suit of armor which covers his body the second he needs it to protect himself.

Lastly, Loki, the god of mischief in Norse mythology, jumps back and forth between helper and troublemaker.  The lesson: the helpers are always the Hero. And there’s probably a little troublemaker in all of us. I just hope it’s good trouble, even if it’s lowkey. (See what I did there?)
