New Year Blessings
As we move into the new year, it’s natural to reflect on what has been and consider where we want to go. But part of growth is learning to release what no longer serves us, old patterns, habits or even mindsets that have outlived their purpose. Letting go is not about rejection, it’s about creating space for flow, for movement, for something new to emerge.
The Tao teaches us to move with life, not against it. It’s about being present, not too far ahead, chasing after what hasn’t come yet, and not too far behind, stuck in what has already passed. Just as water flows along its path, bending around boulders and finding its way over and around obstacles, we too can learn to embrace the moment as it arises, no matter how unexpected it might be.
Sometimes life flows beautifully, and everything seems to fall into place. But then, a log, a rock, or even a boulder tumbles into our path, disrupting the flow. These challenges can feel overwhelming, but they are also opportunities. They ask us to pause, to tune in, and to find a new way to move forward.
For me, when these moments arise, I reach out to spirit and to a higher knowing. I ask for guidance and strength. I relax into the knowing that I can navigate the flow, I can co-create, and I have guides to support me. These obstacles are not roadblocks; they are reminders to let go of the old ways that no longer support my growth. They nudge me to find an alternative path, that ends up being more suitable and rewarding.
It’s not always easy. The right way forward often asks us to step out of our comfort zone. Growth demands courage - and letting go is an act of trust. Trust in ourselves, trust in the process and trust in the flow of life.
So, as the new year approaches, I invite you to take a moment to reflect. Where in your life are you holding on too tightly? What patterns, thoughts or fears are creating dams in the flow of your life? Can you relax and trust the water- and your innate wisdom- to find the way?
In this new year, may we all have the courage to let go of what no longer serves us, the strength to navigate the challenges that arise, and the grace to flow in life as it comes.
