What is ClairOlfaction?
Have you ever smelled something that had no physical source – and couldn’t explain why you were smelling it? You’re not imagining things. And if that’s ever happened to you, this one’s for you.
What Is ClairOlfaction (and Why Is It Just for You)?
ClairOlfaction is the power or faculty of sensing information through smells that have no physical source, especially connected to people, animals, nature, spirits, memories, ideas, information, or places. It is your ability to perceive smells beyond the range of physical perception.

ClairOlfaction is not my strongest Soul Sense – but I wonder if it’s yours. Just recently, mid-conversation, I caught a distinct smell of cigarettes. My COO was with me and couldn’t smell a thing. And that’s often how this works – it comes in localized to you, sometimes in a direct column of space, and the moment you step out of it, it’s gone. A loved one on the other side, coming in through their signature scent. A smell that signals it’s time to pause, unplug, or pay attention.
How You Can Use ClairOlfaction
With all the 11 Soul Senses, the experience can arrive passively – out of nowhere – or you can actively engage it. When a smell shows up unexpectedly, your job is to name it and claim it. Close your eyes, put your hands on your heart, and ask: What is this? Where is it coming from? Is it from my own soul, a loved one, a guide, a memory? And then – is it literal or symbolic? A foul smell might mean something genuinely doesn’t smell right in a situation. A floral scent might be a loved one announcing their presence, or simply your soul longing for something.
As a practitioner in mediumship, this Soul Sense is especially powerful. Loved ones that have crossed often come through with smells associated with their life – cologne, cigarettes, baked goods, machine grease. When you honor what you’re getting and really sink into it, spirit will trust you with more. Don’t be a lazy psychic. Enter the experience. What specifically is that scent? Because the deeper you go, the more the message reveals itself.
