20/20 Vision Quest
Ages ago, I traveled around Arizona on a personal vision quest.
It was my own doing - and undoing.
It wasn’t a traditional one, with fasting, like that done by Native American tribes. It was more of a let-me-get-away-and-lean-into-my-connection-with-Great Spirit, sort of experience. It worked. It set me up for layers upon layers of self-discovery and connectedness. I really blossomed in the desert.
Since then, I’ve traveled around the world on many such journeys. Each time gathering up bits of my soul from other incarnations. I seek and sort, forgive and ask forgiveness, heal and get healed, and reclaim my talents and skills learned over lifetimes. These travels often trigger my soul more alive.
I spent much of 2019 on a rather pivotal, personal journey. I had to look back, before I could move further forward. I might even say, that I have looked deep into the well of truth, and lived to tell the tale.
I am stronger and more vulnerable because of these journeys. It is a good life. And though I’ve traveled the world over, I find what I carry inside is the most compelling adventure unfolding.
So, here I am in 2020, my soul nudging the confines of my ego mind to do another Vision Quest with the familiar intentions: Connect with my inner self (even more). Move through daily life in magical/mystical step with Great Spirit (even more). Find meaning and direction in my life (even more). Remember who I am. And who I am not.
This year, I’ve decided to make the theme of 20/20 Vision Quest underscore my workshops and lectures. There will be some familiar offerings and some new opportunities for soul-growth experiences. And, as always, I am open to requests of specific lessons. My work is always about empowering you. I will be posting classes and speaking events, as well as, YouTube videos and maybe even a podcast, if it goes as planned. It’s just so many of you have asked me to offer out some teachings in bite-sized chunks that extend beyond the seats in my Vineyard classroom. It feels right. Now is the time.
So, to your own quest for having a vision to empower you and take you where you’d like to go -I encourage you to look back and forth: where you’ve been, where you are, and where you want to be headed.
This fish bowl is small and the sky too big, and my soul is saying….remember who you are. And I wonder if yours is too. Sometimes we outlive our way of life. That’s the perfect time for a Vision Quest.
