What is the Throat chakra?

If you're holding your tongue, swallowing your truth, or finding it hard to trust yourself or the people around you, then knowing more about and working with this chakra is for you. The Throat Chakra is about communication, speaking your truth, and the trust issues that quietly run underneath both.

Where is the Throat chakra (and why is it more than just speaking up)?

The throat chakra is located at the throat. It's a powerhouse; one of the most dynamic chakras in the body. It governs communication, but communication is two-way: speaking and listening. So, this is the space where we ask: Where am I holding back what I want to say? Where am I not listening, to others or to myself?

There's also a deep connection here to trust. Trust issues and speaking your truth go hand in hand; when you don't trust yourself enough to say what's true, your whole energy system is affected. I've also seen the throat chakra pull energy from the Solar Plexus, draining personal power, and disrupt the bridge between your lower chakras and your upper chakras, leaving you feeling cut off from your intuition and your spiritual truths. Use your 11 Soul Senses to tune in, journal, take a walk and talk, and ask: What truth wants to come through me right now? Then trust what you hear.
